Why had that secret been kept so far out of his reach? The only time he had been told of it was when he had been taken out of his mother’s care and put into the state’s. They informed him that he had a brother who had already found a foster home. Aiden had begged them to let him go and see him even just once or put them somewhere where they would be in the same care so that they could at least have one another. He had been sixteen at the time and learned only in a few short months that his pleas were getting him nowhere fast. His determination had only made him annoying and a bit undesirable. Aside from being a teenager he was also a curious one who could never have enough information and always wanted to risk taking a little more to getting closer to his blood relatives. Aiden had never shown much interest in anyone who was looking to adopt. He didn’t want to be taken further away or have to adjust to something new. He just wanted out.
But that had been four years ago now. When he had become an adult he had been allowed to be set free and live life on his own. So why hadn’t he found this place sooner? Well, gathering the required information had been a terrible headache for an independent eighteen year old whose days were mostly occupied by trying to find work and get food in his stomach. Here he was though, all these years later, in the town that his brother was supposedly supposed to be in.
He had seen a picture of his brother and had been given the phone number to the home he was staying in now. They were four years apart and held a few features that were similar to one another. After all, they were technically only half brothers. Both of them had bright blue eyes and dark hair. Both of them didn’t have the darkest of complexions. Oh, and did he mention that they both had names that started with an A? Aiden and Adaire. Thankfully Adaire was much less common than Aiden so hopefully that would narrow the search that much more.
Then there was the telephone number. For a long time Aiden had sat with the crumpled bit of paper in his hand wondering whether or not he should dial. He always chickened out though knowing how close he could be to end of this journey and knowing that there was a possibility that all the information that he had put together was wrong. Adiare may not have been here. He wasn’t sure if that was something that he could face now after all this searching. Maybe he should have just called… now his hopes were in danger of really being broken up.
Currently Aiden sat alone at a small booth at the back of the diner. It was almost noon but a pancake house had sounded somewhat appealing. Not to mention there really wasn’t much else for him to pick from. He sat scooted close to the window, using the natural light to stare down at the lightly scribbled number He eventually frowned to himself and folded it back up, hiding it away in his jean’s pocket.
His attire was pretty bland. A loose white shirt with only a few buttons leading up to the collar and dark navy jeans that he’d gotten for four dollars at a yard sale only a few weeks back. His tennis shoes bounced lightly against the floor, making a soft clicking sound whenever his shoelace fell against the small metal rings lacing them in. He was beginning to feel impatient being this close and still not knowing what to expect out of all of this. It made him want to just… to just blast up from his seat now and find a payphone to call the number straight away.
You know what? He was! Aiden was going to call that number right now. He was going to push aside his nerves and stop wasting his time just wondering what was going to happen. He was going to do this and he was going to do it right now. Forget the food for the moment, it could wait for him!
With the sudden switch in attitude, Aiden slid out from his spot, not exactly paying attention to whatever or whoever it was who was just about to cross his path. Well, he wouldn’t notice until he whirled around and attempted to start over to the front of the diner to ask where a payphone was. | [atrb=width,100] words ,

words // a good amount? // outfit // clicky // tagged // aiden<3 boy with a coin, T H E N M A K I N G A W I S H , A N D T O S S E D I N T H E S E A Blue liked Kendrick. It was a cozy area, small town, very different from New York City. Was it home yet? No... it had been three weeks and Blue was pretty used to the weather, good at finding her way to the important places. She was even getting to know some people at the stores she frequented, and they got to know and liked her fine. They would smile at her, ask if she needed help, offer their assistance at "any time". She was betting on one of those offers right about now.
Blue had decided today would be a shopping day. The mere fact that she had decided to have a shopping day spoke volumes. She wasn't much of a shopper. In high school she tended to opt out if her friends were going to the mall. She was a "speed shopper". as she called herself, and hated waiting around for anyone. It was get it, grab it, go, and quickly for her. No waiting around, not wondering this or that. She knew what she liked and knew what looked good on her. So sitting in front of the mirror going "Its cute, but does it make me look fat?" wasn't an option for her. She would make herself puke with boredom. But after unpacking her final box and being stuck in the house lounging for a day with nothing to do, Blue had caught a bad case of cabin fever, and at a quarter till noon went nuts and shattered a dish. Inactivity wasn't good for her. So, she'd showered, dressed nicely in a nice blouse, shorts, and boots, grabbed her purse and left, all in less than fifteen minutes.
The first store she hit wasn't an expensive one. It was one she wasn't familiar with, but having just moved there she didn't want to blow all her money on a shopping spree. She hadn't gotten her first paycheck from her job yet, and that was going right to first payments and rent. But the store was nicely priced for a girl of her pay range, but also complimentary to her style. So she'd picked out a dress, jeans, and a pair of shorts. Twenty three dollars and nineteen cents, thanks to sales. And the card declined. Actually, she later discovered that her account number had been stolen, and some mysterious purchases had been made. So, the account was closed down, and the bank was closed. Being stupid, she only had two dollars from a cut twenty, and hadn't taken out any more cash since. Meaning until Monday, Miss Blue was broke.
But Miss Blue was also hungry, and didn't have anything decent at home, as she had expected to grocery shop that day. So the Pancake Place would hopefully be her saving grace. After a rather good and embarrassing cry in a dressing room, she rushed to the Pancake Place she'd come to love. She was close with the manager, having had a few nice conversations with her. Maybe she'd understand, and give her a free meal. It was a stretch... but it was all she had.
So now, Blue was rushing down the street, biting her lip as she approached the restaurant. Gods, did she look awful. She could just feel the makeup running down her face... she should probably fix up before speaking with the manager. While the runny makeup might have made the story more believable... well. She looked a hot mess, and was too proud to look a hot mess while begging for mercy. When she got to the restaurant, she wave a quick wave to a waitress she knew, making a beeline for the bathroom with her head ducked. No one needed to see her like this. Her pride was shot, so she might as well cover the wounds, right?
Before reaching the bathroom, she looked up right on time for a hand to connect with her face, surprising her more than hurting her, and causing her to stumble back and fall to the ground. She groaned, almost whined as she held her nose, feeling ready to cry all over again as her cheeks blushed pink. "I hate today..." she said with a sniffle, moving her hands to cover her eyes in shame. Of course this was happening. Everything had gone too well too long. It had to be for a reason. So she wouldn't see everything bad about to happen. "God... I'm so sorry..." she said, attempting to stand so she could formally apologize to the person she'd run into. notes // had a bit of fun with it. hope you don't mind :3 though the post itself it.. meh T.T i promise the next one will be better! >.< |

s h o u ld i g i v e u p o r s h o u l d i just keep chasing pavements even though it
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] L E A D S T O N O W H E R E | [atrb=width,240] Aiden practically jumped back into the booth he’d previously been sitting at when the back of his hand had collided with something. His breath was caught in his mouth and his eyes wide with surprise and soon complete shock when he saw the girl sitting on the floor. An instant flush of shame flooded through him and he found that he was totally frozen as he stared down at her. But all of this washed away just as fast as it had happened and before he knew it, Aiden was lightly stepping forward to further investigate what had become of the girl. Lord, he still couldn’t believe he had just backhanded a complete stranger! And it had only been out of his own hastiness. She probably thought he was some careless asshole just going around acting like he owned the pace or something.
“I-”He could barely get a word out before the hurt girl had. She was keeping her hand up over her nose and Aiden got a horrible twist in his stomach at the thought of having made a girl’s nose bleed. A girl who he had never met, nonetheless. So he was quite surprised when she had given him an apology. It made him pause and furrow his brows at the girl looking thoroughly confused.
“Sorry?” Aiden repeated to her. Then he reached forward to take hold of her hand and help her hand in one rushed, awkward movement. “Oh no, no, I’m really sorry. I wasn’t even looking. I didn’t even know- is your nose alright?”
The young man was frowning at her now and leaning toward her, hoping for some further exploration or an explanation. The thought of locating a payphone and dialing the number in his pocket had fled his mind by now and all focus was placed upon this unfortunate stranger. But he couldn’t help but feel horrible! She had fallen flat and everything, for Christ’s sake. How often did that happen unless you hit something pretty damned hard? She must have taken a good know to the face and what if she just started bawling? Then what was he supposed to do? Nobody here knew him so they’d probably think he did something purposely and kick him out of here before he’d even eaten! How fast did news spread around this place?
Okay- he was overeating a little bit in his head. He was thinking of too many absolutely stupid outcomes to this situation. She had apologized to him. That must have meant something, right? That meant that she would not go around telling people he was some violent stranger, right? Right- everything would be alright…
Aiden moved back away from her, shoving his hands into his back pockets (they were too deadly to be given free range for now). “I’m really… sorry. You wanna sit down or something? Get a hand towel? Water?” | [atrb=width,100] words ,

words // a good amount? // outfit // clicky // tagged // aiden<3 boy with a coin, T H E N M A K I N G A W I S H , A N D T O S S E D I N T H E S E A Blue looked down at her hands, examining them closely. No blood. It wasn't the pain that was the issue, really. Yes, it did hurt, and yes, it shocked her into a fall, but she was an ex dancer. She was used to getting whacked in the face, kicked in the shin, scratched by a heel. Thanks to dance, she was tough, mentally and physically, but her mental was so broken down from today's events that she'd just collapsed and started tearing up again. More from embarrassment than anything.
When she saw the hand, she hesitated a moment before taking it, feeling her cheeks burn as she brushed herself off, looking to the floor. The pain was gone and all that was left was the shame of her Humpty Dumpty moment. The poor kid... he looked really sorry. And felt bad for looking such a mess, runny makeup, eyes already red. Probably best to say something she thought, realizing she hadn't spoken yet. "Oh uh... no problem' she said, shaking her head, trying to force a smile but it failed. She looked even more miserable than anything. It was best to stick to looking at her shoes. Some people around the place were looking. Blue caught sight of an older couple talking quietly and glancing over, and she cast them a glare. The old lady caught it, and didn't look back again.
Right now, her pride was too hurt to realize that she was quite a sight standing there having just been hit after rushing in like she did. To everyone else it probably looked like her fault. Running in restaurants wasn't really... well, it was just a common knowledge thing that people knew not to do. Really, it was her fault. "Is your hand all right there? My mom always said I had a hard head" Blue said, in a pitiful attempt to make a joke. She took the offer to sit without a word, checking her nose again, then smiled again, this time more genuinely. "God, you look like you killed someone" she said, with a small chuckle, "I'm fine, I'm tough... I was just a little... shell shocked there" She wiped under her eyes where her eyeliner was running, trying to make herself halfway presentable, but she laughed at her efforts and let her hands drop into her lap. "Ugh... not my day" she said, shaking her head. notes // its progressing. still getting used to playing blue ^^ |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] L E A D S T O N O W H E R E | [atrb=width,240] A smile attempted to twist up onto Aiden’s face as he helped the girl to her feet. He still felt horrible after their little collision but decided that looking completely distraught probably wouldn’t help her any. He probably looked like he had just seen a car accident and when you looked like that… you more than likely would cause more panic than help. So he tried his best to look more pleasant but his brows were still furrowed and his body was rigid. Now he just looked like he was thrown into a pit of snakes and was doing his best to play it cool. Yeah, it he was really failing at this but he wasn’t even aware of it. He thought and felt like he was going okay. Aiden wasn’t very good at faking things. He would have made a shitty actor.
The fake smile managed to change into a real one for a moment when she attempted to joke with him. But he couldn’t really think up an answer to give her and only shrugged, following her lead as she sat down. He took a seat across from her and then brought his hand up to inspect it. Of course, it was doing just fine and only had the smallest hint of red on the back of it from the pressure that had been shared between it and the girl’s face… that made him feel pretty bad. And he also supposed that it either meant she really did have an amazingly hard head or his hand had snapped around at lightning speed. Whatever it had been, Aiden slipped his hand from her view and let it rest on his lap. His attention turned back up toward the girl with the running make up now.
A laugh managed to come and even though it sounded choked back it was still genuine (the guilt was just trying to keep him as nice as possible). He was glad that she didn’t seem to have any dislike toward him because of what had happened. It made him very glad that she could also joke about it. He could still see that she was obviously upset but it was unclear whether it was completely about what had just happened or not. He was tempted to ask her and pressed his lips tight with thought as he gazed over toward the pretty, blue eyed girl. Then he offered her another smile and spoke quietly, “would some pancakes make you feel any better?” He almost laughed at his own words, knowing how weird it must have sounded that he was offering her pancakes. It made him feel like he was talking to a little kid. But he was pretty sure right about now something in his stomach would make him feel better…
Almost on cue the waitress was coming back over to his table. Her eyes were slightly suspicious of the pair and Aiden guessed that she had more than likely seen or heard what had happened between them. She set the plate of pancakes, eggs, and bacon down in front of him, opening up her mouth to speak. “Thanks so much!” Aiden put in quickly, scooting the plate in front of him. “Looks great, no problems, I’m very happy!” Now the waitress was giving him a funny look but she replaced it with an awkward grin and turned away. Aiden’s fake excitement vanished and he looked back over toward the girl pushing the plate to the center of the table. “Have some?”
He supposed he could have had her asked the waitress… | [atrb=width,100] words ,
